Measure 20-364
|
The Citizen Charter Committee spent two years studying the City Charter line by line to identify areas the City of Oakridge can do better. Two measures were then put on the November 5th ballot for Oakridge voters to approve. Both were endorsed by the Oakridge Citizen's Charter Review Committee with the goal of helping increase accountability and better empower our citizens.
This summer, City Council reviewed both measures in depth, presented them for public comment at a series of City Hall meetings, and voted to refer both measures to the November 5th ballot, followed by three more Town Hall meetings on the measures.
The last step is for them to be voted on by you, the people of Oakridge.
Measure 20-363 updates the City Charter to increase transparency, citizen impact, and accountability. Measure 20-264 allows voters to show preferences on their ballots to better ensure majority supported winners without needing to run a costly separate primary election.
This website is your guide to getting informed and up to speed on both measures.
